Social media can have a bad name nowadays but we're working to make a good community here.
Addendum: Actually, having reminded myself what this interface looks like, I think Friendica threads are better formatted than Bonfire threads.
I've been trying out Friendica and Friendica groups provide the same functionality as Bonfire circles, Friendica provides well-formatted conversation threading similar to Bonfire, and Friendica already federates.
I believe there are other protocols that have made similar headway too, although I havne't tried them out yet.
In light of that, can someone convince me that the Bonfire project is truly worthwhile?
I'm posting this here rather than on Mastodon because I think the Bonfire people seem to have good intentions and perhaps their project goes somewhere, but can someone help me understand what truly compelling features Bonfire is planning to develop that aren't already provided by Friendica or other ActivityPub platforms?

Yes. I really appreciate that the's an option for a proper thread view. I'm less than pleased with the fact that there's also options for sorting threads by numbers of replies or numbers of likes.
I would prefer to get away from social media being a massive popularity contest.
I see a nice indented thread pretty much automatically...
