I think in Bonfire 'mentioned people only' is the Direct Messages section, maybe there should still be a way to set that visibility type and have the message be 'promoted' to a chat in that case? Unsure.

I wish the Mastodon instance its best! I will remain engaged in the Tech Working Group exploring other projects and available for emergencies but otherwise plan to shift away from #Mastodon project work.

In my years since I onboarded to the TWG I helped achieve the following objectives:

- Got Mastodon instance maintenance team back to a healthy rotation.
- Many updates :)
- Set up alpha.social.coop for testing riskier updates.
- Deployed the max characters hot patch :D
