@edsu@bonfire.social.coop

I work as a software developer on collective memory projects, mostly in libraries and archives.

It's the UN International Day of Persons with Disabilities ( #IDPD)!

This week we ask if you will share free online W3C WAI accessibility resources that are available in 35 languages.

Curious about new WAI staff?

Find out about #W3C #WAI #a11y resources, translations, and staff from:

W3C in the news: "Do We Want an Immersive Web?"
"Are there ethical considerations related to immersion on the web, such as issues of privacy, digital addiction, or data security?
“The web provides an infrastructure for a variety of mediums to reach, engage and influence billions of people. To protect the web and its users there are international standards in place governed by The World Wide Web Consortium or W3C."

dynamic: I've been trying out Friendica and Friendica groups provide the same functionality as Bonfire circles, Friendica provides well-formatted conversation threading similar to Bonfire, and Friendica already federates. I believe there are other protocols that have made similar headway too, although I havne't tried them out yet. In light of that, can someone convince me that the Bonfire project is truly worthwhile?

Addendum: Actually, having reminded myself what this interface looks like, I think Friendica threads are better formatted than Bonfire threads.

dynamic: I'm posting this here rather than on Mastodon because I think the Bonfire people seem to have good intentions and perhaps their project goes somewhere, but can someone help me understand what truly compelling features Bonfire is planning to develop that aren't already provided by Friendica or other ActivityPub platforms?
