It's #PiDay!

I'm going through my old blog posts on Pika, fixing a bunch of tags, and I found this one. I can still remember how hard I was trying not to laugh (for the mom's sake) when I passed these two kids in Costco a few years ago. They were so hilarious.
---
We’re at Costco with apparently half our town. Harried mom with two small boys:
Mom: You guys. GUYS. Can you just…
Boy 1: <knocks bro to ground, both laughing hilariously> BAD DOG, MAX! LAY DOWN
Boy 2: <Rolling on floor in front of the snack aisle> I’M SO BAAAAAAD
Mom: Oh my god
@hollie I’m happy I don’t have to stifle my laughter. 😂
@hollie I binge watched Outlander with my mom recently. By the time I left for home, somewhere around season 6, I told Mama I was so tired of seeing Claire's boobs I couldn't see straight!
@gparenti I’m only on Season 3 and I’m already boob-weary! 😂
Okay I don’t want to get anyone riled up with my problematic opinions, but I’m just going to say it.
I think it’s possible to watch too much Outlander in one sitting.
Claire is below decks of some frigate, trying to save a few dozen men from typhus, and she touched a man’s cheek and said, “He’s as cold as ice.” And in my head I thought, “Aye, but is he willing to sacrifice…our love?”
That’s when I knew I needed to turn off the television.

‘Viking' was a job description, not a matter of heredity, massive ancient DNA study shows
"The team was able to sequence 442 Viking Age genomes from as far afield as Italy, Ukraine, and the doomed Viking settlements of Greenland."

My partner in crime was taking our grandkidling home on the bus and they noticed someone riding down the hill on a skateboard and juggling at the same time. As you do. They went along with the bus for a while and now I have two jobs. Teach the GK juggling, and then skateboarding - not sure they're ready for the skateboard just yet.
Also, shout out to everyone riding skateboards around and juggling. Your an inspiration to 4 year olds everywhere. 😜

The man who runs our corner store (dépanneur) was murdered Thursday morning. There was a candlelight vigil tonight with a couple of hundred of our neighbors. I don't have much to say except that every life touches so many others. #montreal
@evan 😢
@EndlessMason @kawunngg I think it depends on the brand? I had one that was very pleasant, and the ones I have now aren't so much unless I have noise going. I usually do an old familiar tv show on a low volume for chores/tidying, and then sometimes a lo-fi or brown noise file for concentrating.

@django thanks. it's only archived cause it's now on codeberg (nice) https://codeberg.org/vyr/slurp
@shinmera oh I missed that, awesome!
@shinmera GoToSocial has a Mastodon migration tool, I see it’s archived though https://github.com/VyrCossont/slurp/

@hollie
I really hate the feeling in my ears when I use noise cancelling head phones. Why am I alone with this 😂
Okey, so, #mastodon and #activitypub knowers: is there an established procedure for changing your server's domain?
I understand this case is (unfortunately) not covered by the protocol, and thus is not doable optimally. I don't care about that, I just want to know the closest to optimal method.
Is there some way to set up another instance on the new domain and migrate all the data over? Make some kinda redirect before ultimately abandoning the old domain some years down the road?

In an ideal world, any diagnosis of neurodivergence would also include, in the same appointment, a gifted pair of high quality noise-cancelling headphones.

@hollie I was just thinking that if you work in a building with a cafeteria, there should be at least two tables dedicated to quietly eating your lunch without chatting or interaction
@mnemonica Oh my gosh, yes.
May you be happy!
May you be free from suffering!
